Juventus midfielder maestro Andrea Pirlo is looking forward to meet Carlo Ancelotti once again in Tuesday in Turin, as Juventus is taking on Real Madrid in UEFA champions League semifinal. Before that match, Pirlo gives Carlo ancelotti lots of credit for making him the player he is today.
Carlo Ancelotti and Andrea Pirlo both join A.C. Milan at the same time in 2001. Ancelotti built a world class team there and conquer the world with it. Under Carlo, Pirlo has developed as a world class player, set piece specialist and one of the best deep lying playmaker in the world.
Pirlo spent eight years under Ancelotti’s at AC Milan, then Ancelotti leave to manage Chelsea and later, Pirlo joined Juventus in 2011. But each time Pirlo meets Ancelotti, he has good memory and pleasant thoughts to share about his former manager.
In pre-match interview, Pirlo told La Gazzetta dello Sport:
“It’s like rediscovering your father again. He changed my career, putting me in front of the defence. We shared some unforgettable moments. We had a magnificent past together.”
Juventus clinched the Seria A title this Saturday with 1-0 win against Sampdoria and going tp play Lazio in the Italian Cup final. Now they are keen to make to the final. They have great chance to win treble this season. Pirlo said:
“We’ve matured a lot these years and the experience we’ve gained in Europe has helped the team in general. In the three seasons under [Antonio] Conte, we were still lacking something — maybe we just weren’t ready — but this year our belief that we can beat anybody has grown as the season has progressed.”
Pirlo also added that Juventus has been playing good football throughout the season without any fear or concern. They don’t need any miracle to beat Real, as they are on same level with Madrid. He believes as a team, Juve have nothing to lose, they needs go out there with all guns blazing for pursuing the dream.

Pirlo is now 35 years age and it’s most probably his last year with Juventus, as the rumors suggest he is joining MLS next season. At the end of the day only team is going to won the trophy and as both the Teacher and Student are prepare to cross paths again, Pirlo is desperately won this tie. He dream to get his hand on the Champions League trophy again. He is pretty convinced that they have good chance against Los Blancos. Andrea continued:
“It would actually be a dream way to end my time in Turin, by winning the Champions League,” he said. “But I wouldn’t stop playing altogether. I’m going to continue for as long as I still have the great desire to train every day. Certainly I wouldn’t stay in Italy — Juve will be my last Serie A club no matter what.
“[The United States] is an option, but there’s nothing definite yet. I’m still only thinking about Juve, and besides — let’s get our hands on that trophy first and then we’ll see.”
