Atletico can not hold Griezmann on Chains, Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone declared. The Spanish title contenders are relying on the French man’s goals to strengthen their fortress, but Simeone told the media that the player may leave in the summer.

Antoine Griezmann

Antoine Griezmann has emerged as one of the most clinical, most lethal and most wanted strikers in Europe after his move from Real Sociedad to Atletico Madrid. Since then the versatile French man has developed as a world class forward and now he is been chased by almost all the top clubs of various European top leagues.

Chelsea, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Arsenal are some of the clubs who has been chasing the former Real Sociedad youth. Chelsea are the front-runners to sign the player according to the reports. The Blues eye the Atletico Madrid talisman as their main transfer target next summer since the future of Chelsea’s ‘magic feet’ Eden Hazard is in danger. The Belgian is interested in a move away from Chelsea and may end up in Spain.

Atletico Madrid blocked all the moves last summer itself to keep hold of their praised asset, but club manager Diego Simeone believed that Atletico can not hold Griezmann if the player decides to leave. Simeone is right since it is the player’s wish to stay at the Vincente de Calderon that helped Atletico to keep the French forward unless they might not have managed to do so.

Recent reports from Spain and England suggest that the player is frustrated by Atletico’s lack of titles last season as they finished the season with no honors and the threat by giants Barcelona and Real Madrid is resisting Atletico from growing. Barcelona defeated Atletico in all fronts and won a treble last season and are the clear favorites to clinch the 2015-16 La Liga title.

In his meeting with the press, Diego Simeone concerned that Atletico can not hold Griezmann on chains to restrict the player from leaving. The Argentine tactician also informed that the club officials are in talks with the player’s representatives to discuss the player’s future and ensured that the club will take all necessary actions to keep Griezmann at Atletico Madrid.

Atletico Madrid are reportedly interested in bringing former frontman Diego Costa back to the Vincente de Calderon and it is said that the deal may see Antoine Griezmann moving in the opposite direction.
