Delhi Dynamos Preview of ISL 2015: How They Will Perform In ISL 2?

Delhi Dynamos are surely a much stronger side this season as they brought players who can offer more balance and different dynamics to the team. John Arne Riise and Florent Malouda will boost the hopes of Delhi considering that both are proven stars of English Premier League. Malouda can offer the extra threat up front along with last season hero Gustavo Marentini. New boy from West Bromwich Albion, Adil Nabi impressed in the pre season game with a brace.

Roberto Carlos has been named player-manager of Delhi Dynamos.

The teams’ last season defensive woes let the team suffer in the opening weeks which eventually reduced their chances of making the play-offs. With the former Liverpool man Arne Riise, the team’s defense is looking more stable than the last year. Though Carlos cannot feature (at his age, it is not expectable) for more games, his presence in the sidelines and his experience will better the team’s defensive improvement.

Hans Mulder and Serginho Greene may feature in the center of the park. Greene may get fewer chances considering his age, but he can be more useful to alter the team’s tactics as required. Spanish shot-stopper Toni Doblas may feature ahead of Indian Goalkeeprs Subhashish Roy and Ravi Kumar for his vast experience in Spanish Primera Division.

If Roberto Carlos opts for more foreigners in the field then he can drop Toni Doblas and bring in a foreigner to boast his team.

Predicted finish

Though the team is stronger than last season, the team still lacks enough depth and quality in the center which may harm them against tougher opponents with a better midfield. Except Huns Mulder, there is no other reliable foreigner to play the in the middle. Greene is an option, but he certainly is not a reliable player to play every game.

In the front, Delhi is more threatening than last season. Malouda can spark the plug and the young Adil Nabi can impress in his debut ISL season. Indian forwards Ralte and Robin Singh are expected to provide options and the competition in the squad will help them to up their game. And of course, there is Gustavo Marmentini to provide his routine goal scoring performance.

In short, Delhi is definitely not the favorites to win the title but are a tough opponent to beat in the playoffs.
