Diego Simeone to Leave Atletico Madrid

Diego Simeone to leave Atletico Madrid, according to reports of Ok Diario. The Argentine tactician eyes Chelsea job and may leave the Spanish side in the summer to join English Premier League.

Chelsea Football club owner and Russian Billionaire Roman Abramovich is believed to be an admirer of Diego Simeone whom he wants to take over at the Stamford Bridge in the summer. Chelsea have increased Simeone’s wages to a whopping €12milliom (£9.35m according to the report and it is believed that Simeone could not reject it anyways.

Chelsea sacked Jose Mourinho after the Portuguese endured his worst ever spell in his career, also the former Real Madrid coach lost the dressing room atmosphere which made the situation very hard to recover from. Guus Hiddink, the 69-year-old Dutch man is hired as an interim coach who is doing better than Jose Mourinho so far. Chelsea did not lose a league game ever since Hiddink took over.

Guus Hiddink is way too old to be considered as Chelsea’s future and the Dutch confirmed that he won’t be staying at Chelsea after this season. So, Chelsea are searching for managers worldwide. Diego Simeone is one of the toppers in the list of managers Chelsea are chasing after and now it appears that Chelsea have got what they wanted.

After Pep Guardiola, Diego Simeone is the most promising and most reliable young manager available and it is no surprise that Chelsea are after him desperately. Also, Diego Simeone is the kind of manager who loves to have an emotional attachment with the fans, players and everyone related to the club, this trait is something Chelsea need immediately.

The fans of Chelsea are very much disappointed with the club management for sacking the ‘Spacial One’ Jose Mourinho who is called ‘one of us’ by the Blues. Chelsea captain John Terry’s contract extension is another issue that received so much criticism from Chelsea fans and the Argentine can be the solution to all the questions.

Though Jose Mourinho has an emotional attachment with Chelsea fans, we can expect that the Blues may love the Argentine equally if he produces an effort like the one he has with Atletico Madrid.
