“It’s a tough draw but it’s always better to be in the draw than out of it, and we will do all what is possible to get a result.”
Currently Oman performance is not up to the par, they encounter disappointing result in the recent regional and continental tournaments. In the 22nd Gulf Cup they finished in fourth position and in 2015 AFC Asian Cup they failed to make in knockout stage of the tournament. Oman Coach Paul Le Guen said:
“What happens outside the field is not in our control. What we can and what we want to do is focus on our game and work on it. It was disappointing to lose the matches which we could have won at the Asian Cup. We are disappointed like everyone. But there is nothing to be ashamed of as far as the team’s performances were concerned, we lost the matches we could have won and those losses came against the two finalists.”
Paul Le Guen also imposed on the fact that they are not looking into the past, they are working hard and focused for the qualifier round. They are ready to put all the criticism and poor performance behind them and emerged as a stronger contenders for the top spot in the group. They are doing their the best to earn the ticket for next round.

This match is very important for Indian football team for 2018 World Cup Qualifying campaign. Oman will be low in confidences and they are also playing in away venue. It is Indian’s golden chance to attack Oman’s weakness and focused on their strength and try to nullify that. It is inevitable that Iran will top the group and remaining four teams will fight for the 2nd spot. It is not going to be easy, but the team needs to take their chances. Win against Oman will be a superb result and confidence boaster for the team. We are hoping that India can overcame this challenge.
