Chelsea Captain John Terry will leave Chelsea in the summer according to the player’s Chelsea teammate Willian.
John Terry who played his entire club career at Chelsea barring a loan spell with Nottingham Forest in 2000 said that the club will not offer him a new contract in the summer. The news made every Chelsea fan suffer and the Blue fans started to protest the board asking a new contract extension to their beloved Captain who served his life for Chelsea.
John Terry did not seem frustrated or angry with the Chelsea board, but the fans are more than angry as they do not want to lose one of their ever favorites in a typical unfashioned way. Chelsea are already out of the Capital One Cup and their League position this season is the worst in a decade. So the fans want their Captain to stick around for some more time and want an unforgettable send off to their all-time best defender.
John Terry is not just a player to Chelsea fans. He is Mr.Chelsea, so it is more emotional for Chelsea fans. Add to the sentiments, John Terry is in fine form and is physically fit too. It will be a big mistake by Chelsea if they allow Terry to leave, particularly when they need LEADERS in the dressing room.
Chelsea players also voiced their opinions about John Terry’s contract issue and every one of them supported the fans’ protest. But Brazilian winger Willian is concerned that Chelsea may not extend John Terry’s contract and said the veteran is possibly Chelsea’s greatest ever player.
“I think he would like to stay longer with us, but unfortunately it seems he won’t be able to remain as a Chelsea player,” Willian told Squawka.
“The club won’t probably extend his contract. I can just wish him the best of luck for the rest of his career.”
“He is definitely one of the greatest or maybe the greatest player of Chelsea’s history. He has won everything for this club. He is respected by all of us.”
