The dream is still alive with the late commentary by one, Mr. Saurav Ganguly, the co-owner of Atletico De Kolkata, that the Brazilian phenomenal midfielder come play maker, Kaka can join the ATK squad in the second edition of ISL (Indian Super League).
Kaka set to join ATK squad soon
Kaka’s contract with American club Orlando City will over this year and that may put an end of the midfielder journey in Major League Soccer and introduce Kaka to the Indian soil and grass!
At the facilitation ceremony of BBCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya arranged by the CAB (Cricket Association of Bengal) Dada was quoted saying
“About Kaka… talks are going on, but nothing have been finalised yet. When it is finalised we will surely disclose the news,”
The defending champion of ISL Atletico De Kolkata is going to have their second Indian Super League Journey under the same Spanish coach Antonio Lopez Habas.
About that the former Indian cricket team skipper quoted
“Habas has been brilliant as a coach. He will remain the coach for sure. He helped Atletico become champions,”
After the successful inauguration edition, Atletico is also reported to be in talks with Uruguay’s star striker Diego Forlan. If Kaka makes his way in, that means, the quota of marquee player goes off from the Spanish mid-fielder Luis Garcia!
Whatever be it, Forlan or Kaka there is no doubt that ATK is going to try hard to remain their former key domestic players.
Reports are Atletico De Kolkata is preliminarily targeting old lads Kevin Lobo, Arnab Mondal, Mohammed Rafiq, Rakesh Masi first. The team is also reported to have set their eyes on Sushant Mathew, Denson Debdas, Lalrindika Ralte and Bikramjit Singh. They are also keen on keeping Borja Fernandez and Fikru in the squad.
On their plans of this year’s ISL, Saurav Ganguly said that the strategy will remain same, to opt for quality domestic footballers around the country along with young foreigners.
