Luis Garcia Wants to Come Back to India – Latest ISL News

The former Liverpool winger and first time ISL winning team, Atletico de Kolkata’s captain, Luis Garcia wants to come back to India in Indian Super League or ISL Season 2. In the first season of ISL, we have seen Garcia at Atletico Kolkata. Although, there is no such confirmation but, it seems Kolkata will skip Garcia and call some other marquee players including Forlan and Kaka. Anyway, let’s check the interview of Garcia.

Luis Garcia Wants to Come Back to India - Latest ISL News

The attacking midfielder of Atletico Kolkata, Luis Garcia has told to media in a casual interview that he wants to come back to India in ISL 2. He said,

Yes, if I can yes. I heard that they wanted me back, but we don’t have anything yet. I’m just waiting.

His team was just next to awesome in ISL 2014. Not just teammates, he wants to come back because of the environment at the ground. On the attendees, he further added,

The attendance every week in our stadium was 30, 40, 50 (thousands) depending on the other team (they were scheduled to play with). It was very good.

Not just Garcia, but the entire India saw how Kolkata supported their home team. So many bold players featured in this ISL 2014 and Luis Garcia was one of them. He has got really well welcome in and outside of the ground. He added,

It was a great experience. You’re there without knowing too much about the culture and the people over there, so it’s really shocking when you arrive, because it’s a different world.

On the other hand, Indians somehow cannot get together at a football ground o cheer their favorite team in i-league. However, ISL has successfully consolidate all the Indians under same roof and that is great. Garcia has also said that,

The passion of the people about football you wouldn’t expect it because they’re crazy about cricket. They love cricket, it’s their main sport. So, its 1.2 billion people in there so…

At the same time, various participants and the governing body of ISL are trying to improve the quality of the tournament. Hence, they have already started working on grassroots level.
