Pellegrini is fond of attacking football against any opponents. Generally goes for 4-2-3-1 and 4-4-2 formation. Less defending and play more attackingly football may help with the bottom teams of the league table, but against the top teams defending is always a key. City has suffered that last season. Manuel Pellegrini’s tactics against big teams like Arsenal, Barcelona and Liverpool last season has been criticized. He lost against Arsenal in Etihad, suffers defeat against Liverpool and United. Those defeats in big matches have damaged his reputation as a manager. Now, it’s the first big match for Pelligrini this season, everyone is looking forward for his tactics in this match.
Jose is famous for his pragmatic approach in the big matches. One of the main reasons, he hasn’t lost a single match so far against the top 5 in the English Premier league in last 2 seasons.
Though he has been criticized many times for this type of defensive approach, still his method in big matches is more effective. Jose generally goes for 4-2-3-1 formation, strong backline and fast counter attack is the general tactics for Mou. As Chelsea dropped 2 points in the first, it will be interesting to see whether the Special One is going for 3 points or wants to settle with 1 points.
Manchester City vs Chelsea Match Preview – Battle of Players: Who is the Best?
Manchester City and Chelsea both are outstanding team with individual talents. But who is the best?
Kompany vs Terry: Tough call, but after last season’s performance, Terry will be the answer.
Mangala vs Cahill: Cahill, without any doubt. Mangala needs to be more consistent.
Zabaleta vs Ivanovic: Another tough comparison, both are almost equal. But if we have to choose one, then Zabaleta it is.
Kolarov vs Azpilicueta: Azpi is far better. One of the consistent defender in EPL.
Toure vs Matic: impossible to choose anyone this. Both are one best in their respective position. So it’s a draw.
Fernandinho vs Fabregas: Fabregas is miles ahead, compare to Fernandinho.
Navas vs Hazard: The Belgian international will win this battle. Hazard has been the best player of PFA last year.
Silva vs Oscar: Two players with huge talents and potential, both are fantastic players. But Silva is ahead.
Sterling vs Willian: Another tough call, both are the same type of player, but Sterling has better finishing quality whereas Willian’s work rate far more. But Willan will be ahead if we consider last season.
Goalkeeper and Striker
Hart vs Begovic: Courtua will miss this game due to his suspension. Between Begovic and Hart, the latter one is slightly ahead.
Aguero vs Costa: Both have scored, but enough goals for their team. But In this comparison Aguero will be far ahead.
Manchester City: 4.5
A mouth-watering clash is awaiting for the spectators and viewers. The battle will be intense, sensational. But a match of this intensity too much earlier in the season always disappoints and failed to live up to the expectation. So there is a possibility that two teams will settle for a draw. According to Footballlens’ prediction, it will be 1-1 draw.
