A number of star football players will be missing from upcoming Kolkata League. Mohun Bagan is going to be most affected of them all. A bunch of best players including Sony Norde, Balwant Singh, Jeje Lalpekhlua Dhanachandra Singh, Sehnaj Singh, Raju Gaikwad, Kingshuk Debnath, Bikramjit Singh will be missing due to their contract with respective ISL teams.
Mohun Bagan Starts Kolkata League with Gloom
As per the reports the management of Mohun Bagan have still not opened their mouth in this issue. Mohun Bagan coach is still unacknowledged about the deals of his players with their team. As per rules Norde will have to promote Mumbai City FCand he will not be able to be part of team ‘sobuj merun’ till December.
The conditions of Balbant Singh and Jeje have signed the contracts without consulting the team management of Mohun Bagan and thus they too are ‘booked’ for a long span.
Sony Norde and Mohun Bagan issues
The biggest trouble for Mohun Bagan right now is absence of Sony Norde. As per report Mohun Bagan wanted to play Sony in the Kokata Derby and then release him for ISL. But all their plans right now in gutters due to the contract rules.
Latest trick of club players
The thoughtless decisions of some of the players are leading to a strong controversy. According to the rule if a club player takes permission from the club then the club gets a share of their money. To skip that part some of the well known players do signs contracts without discussing with the clubs. The acts of Norde, Singh, Jeje, Dhanchandra fall into this part. Whether some of the players like Pritam Kotal, Debjit Majumder, Souvik Chakraborty could not afford the risk and contracted first with the club and then joined the team.
And the reason behind this whole problem and confusion is nothing but big amount of money. ISL provides them with more welcoming salary than clubs and this affects their loyalty towards the clubs.
Mohun Bagan coach Sanjay Sen said things differently. He said
“Media is more concerned than me about Sony. Management has not confirmed me yet that he will not play in the league. So I am less concerned about Sony right now”.
Things are different for East Bengal as they made the contracts earlier, before the bidding of ISL. And thus East Bengal will not be as much affected as Mohun Bagan.
Now the question comes if the players are really excluding part of Kolkata derby then Mohun Bagan is already in trouble. And now only time can answer how this year’s I League champions will perform without some of the best players of the Mohun Bagan A C. No doubt 6th September Kolkata derby will be a crucial one.
