The 24 year old Norwegian started his carrier with Hodd in 2007, where he spent his first five years of his carrier. The keeper earned a total of 67 first team appearances there, and in 2012 Nyland brought his team the Norwegian Cup, the first major cup, ever for a second division team Hodd. Neyland was chosen the man of the match in the final as he outperformed the favourite Tromso in a penalty shootout resulting 4-2 in favour of his own team!

In 2013, Neyland moved to Molde, a leading Norwegian club and brought them the Norwegian Cup on his very first season. Next season he experienced a double with League and Cup with Molde.

The goalkeeper had performed for his own country in all the U-16, U-18 and U-21 levels. In 2013 Neyland brought his country the bronze medal from the U-21 Championships happened in Israel. He was named the goalkeeper of the season, defeating David de Gea in the challenge.

He made his first senior team appearance for his country on that very year against Scotland. Molde made no mistake to sign him a five year contract immediately but the contract also contains a buyout clause of a minimum £2.3million.
