Jamaica, probably considered as one of the weakest teams in this year’s Copa America 2015  will lock horns against surprise package of this year Copa America Paraguay, in the group B encounter at Estadio Elías Figueroa, Valparaíso. Paraguay have performed well in this competition over the past few years. They reached the quarter finals in 2004 and 2007 and they progressed to the Finals in 2011 only to be beaten by their Group B counterparts Uruguay.

Paraguay showed some great spirit in their last game against tournament favorites Argentina. Despite trailing 2-0 in the first half, a stunning long range effort from Nelson Valdez and a 90th minute equalizer from Lucas Barrios sealed a crucial point for them. They will surely e looking to carry forward that momentum and grab maximum points against Jamaica in their next Group game.

Being the so called underdogs in Group B which also consists of teams like Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay, the team from the Caribbean islands performed well above expectations against Uruguay ( the defending champions ) in their first game.

Despite playing with a lot of heart and intensity they slipped to a 1-0 defeat courtesy a goal from a set piece in the 52nd minute by Christian Rodriguez. But Jamaica came into the tournament carrying some great momentum as they won five consecutive games in a row. Jamaican manager Winfried Schafer has insisted that his team can still take the Copa America by storm. The German was quoted as saying,

Roque Santa Cruz: The veteran in the squad, former Bayern and Manchester City man Roque Santa Cruz still leads the line for his national side at the age of 33 though he faces stiff competition from the likes of Nelson Valdez and Lucas Barrios. He has the ability to penetrate defences and score with both his feet and the Paraguay side will be needing all of his experience for further progression in the competition.

Raul Bobadilla: The Augsburg striker is a multi- skilled forward who can trouble any defence on his day. He had a mixed game against Argentina where he looked bright when he got the ball but his positioning was not upto the mark. Against Jamaica he will definitely be looking rectify his mistakes and bring out his best game.

Pablo Aguilar: This lad is rock solid at the back, reads the game well, good aerially and possesses exceptional skills when it comes to tackling. With players like Samudio and Caceres failing to impress in the opening game , Ramon Diaz will be looking to Aguilar to marshal the defense in the rest of the tournament.
