The Iconic Dutch man believes that his student Pep Guardiola is more suited for the Red side of Manchester than that of the Blue side. Pep Guardiola signing for Manchester City is an almost completed deal and the Ajax Legend has his say in an interview with Esports Cope.
Manchester City have agreed on a deal with Pep Guardiola which will see the former Barcelona man taking the reigns at the Etihad stadium from next season onwards. The current Bayern Munich boss is all set to replace Manual Pellegrini with only an official statement has to be made to announce the deal.
Johan Cruyff who was pivotal for Barcelona’s La Masia is impressed with one of his best students and is highly hopeful on Pep Guardiola, but he feels that Pep Guardiola should have joined Manchester United instead of City. United are more TRADITIONAL and have a way of play that is good for managers like Pep Guardiola is the reason that Cruyff opted United ahead of City.
“I would have liked Pep at United – they have more tradition than City,” he told.
But the Legend did not fail to praise Manchester City though as he said the English club have a good vision for future and he also praised the club’s ambition in world football. Thus, he believes Pep Guardiola will make the team stronger and help them win their targets. City have the best training structures compared to other Premier League teams and Cruyff was full of praise for their efforts.
“It is a good moment to work at City, though, because they have the set-up, the money, and the will to create a good team,” said Cruyff.
The transfer rumors including Neymar is the other sensational news that relates to Barcelona and the former felt the Brazilian is very happy at Camp Nou and luring him will be tough. But he also pointed at the threat that there will always be better offers for a player like Neymar.
“There is a mix between romanticism to always play for the same club and tempting offers from elsewhere. Money is very powerful, ” Cruyff told.
Whether Pep Guardiola and Neymar will take Cruyff’s words or not is another story but for now, they both are concentrating on their current club.
