Pep Guardiola Will Stay In Bayern Munich Next Season

Manchester City Manager Manuel Pelligrini is already in under-pressure for their early departure from FA Cup, not satisfactory performance in Champions League and their dipping performance in last few matches in league, which cost them the EPL title this season. They haven’t won single tournament this season.

On the other hand PSG are on their way to win the Ligue 1, but club managements want better performance in European competition. So they are looking for someone to replace Laurent Blanc next season.

Both Manchester City and PSG were interested in him, there was rumors that he is going to leave Munich at the end of this season and will join last year Barclays Premier League Champion Manchester City. But Guardiola himself dismissed all the possibility of his departure.

In the pre-match press conference for Champions League semi-final second leg against Barcelona, when he was asked about his future plan, he said:

“I’ve already said 200 million times – I’ll be here next season. That’s it. I have a year left on my contract. Next season I will be here.”

Leading German tabloid has claimed that Guardiola had reached a verbal agreement with the club, that he will manage them next year too.

Pep Guardiola won the Bundesliga title back to back two years with Bayern Munich. He also won DFB Pokal, Club World Cup and UEFA Supercup in his two year spell. Bayern played the UCL semifinal against last year winner Real Madrid, lost the first leg by 1-0 and the second leg by 4-0. He has been criticized for his tactics.

This season they won the Bundesliga title, but they are out of DFB Pokal, lost the first leg of the UCL semifinal with a score line of 3-0 against Barca in Camp Nou. They are in crisis, most of the important players are injured and they are not in good form. They have lost five matches in trot. Now they will face Barca on 2nd fixture of UCL tie.
When Guardiola was asked about the next match against Barcelona, He said:

“Barcelona are strong on the break. If we let something slip, they’ll punish us. We have to defend well. We can’t go on the all-out attack. We have to control the game. We’re Bayern – before a game I’ve never said that we have no chance. Of course we do.”
