The Atletico Bilbao striker was not impressed with the critics of Cristiano Ronaldo and claimed that ‘Questioning Ronaldo is an Insult‘ to the player.
Cristiano Ronaldo, the talismanic Portuguese is not enjoying his best of days this season as he is not in his best shape from the very start of this season. Numerous reports are made about the player’s form, some of them even criticised the player’s private life. Ronaldo has scored 29 goals from 30 games in all competitions this season and still get criticised. Aduriz expressed his frustration with the critics as he felt players of Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona forward Lionel Messi’s caliber do not deserve to be questioned. The 34-year-old veteran felt that questioning Ronaldo is an insult.
“Can Cristiano be questioned? It seems like an insult to me. We can’t question him for anything in the world,” he said.
Ronaldo is already 31-years old and people started to expect less from the player as they think the player has crossed his prime days and is nearing his end as a top professional. Also, there are reports of Ronaldo leaving Real Madrid this summer is spreading over the internet. Though new manager Zinedine Zidane backs his leading frontman publicly, it is said that the player is still ‘unhappy’ with the things at Real Madrid.
Zidane vowed to Real Madrid fans that Cristiano Ronaldo, the club’s all-time leading goalscorer will not be sold until he stays in the Real Madrid hot seat. But things are not improving on the pitch since Cristiano Ronaldo is still struggling to play his usual stride for his team. Ronaldo is being portrayed as a ‘small club player’ by his critics after he failed to score against top teams in La Liga this season. Aritz Aduriz, who turns 35 this week felt the criticisms are very harsh on these players.
“We’re very spoiled. Their(Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo) numbers are astronomical,” he told.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is reportedly not impressed with Cristiano Ronaldo and may even axe the player next season and aim for a replacement in Barcelona forward Neymar Jr.
