All India Football Federation apply to the Indian Government to gain the permission to let the Indian origin players play for the Indian national football team. It is a question of great debate for the long time which is overhauled. But the AIFF did not take any strong step in this matter. But at last they finally came around and they applied for the permission to the Central Sports Ministry of India by a letter.
AIFF took numerous attempts to make improvement for Indian football, like making a higher budget, bring many foreign coaches, tried to develop more modern infrastructure but the results are not as good as expected and the Indian football team was struggling on the field.

Disappointing Performance in World Cup Qualifier
On 11th June India loss to Oman with 2-1 scoreline, in first match of World Cup qualifier at Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru. Sunil Chetri’s stunner was not enough to secure one point for them in the first match. Things went from bad to worse, when India lost to the far more inferior in FIFA ranking Guam in 2nd match of the WC qualifier.
In the analysis of the defeat a reason came forward that Guam’s many footballers are groomed in the America and playing in the MLS where they can play beside the world class players which make the Guyam team far more effective on field.
After that defeat AIFF on the move to bring the Indian origin players playing in the whole world and this is their first step to make that move. Although the Government do not give their permission but Michael Chopra has shown his interest to play for the India.
Many former players are excited on this project. P.K.Banerjee, I. M. Vijayan, Chuni Goswami all are for this project but their main concern is not to allow burn out players to include in this project.

Furdijel and Luciano: These professional footballer brothers of Netherlands are should be on the list. Elder brother Furdijel as well as Luciano spent their youths in Zeeburgia, AZ and Ajax. Furdijel is now in the contract with Zwolle and the younger brother is playing as a dutch international in the national team.
Harmeet Singh: Harmeet singh born is Oslo and played in various age group of Norwegian national team like under15 and under21. He made his senior debut as his performance for Valerenga, winning the Norwegian Cup in 2008. He is also referred as Iniesta of Norway. Now he is in a contract with Dutch giant Feyenoord.
Neil Taylor: His mother is hailed from the Mecca of Indian football Kolkata. Taylor’s youth career was started in Manchester City. Later he became a member of the Swansea squad. This left back’s impressive performance played a key role to promotion of Swansea into the premier division.
This is a great step from AIFF, it is much require for fast progress of Indian Football. There are many more players of Indian origin are playing all over the world like Brandon Fernandes in ASD Capetown, Pratik Shinde in Houston Hurricanes, Malvind Benning in Walsall FC, Myron Mendes in ASD Capetown, Yan Dhanda in Liverpool FC. These are only the few of many out there. If a small and inferior country like Guyam can perform well in this strategy then there is a lot of hope for India too.
