Real Madrid to sell 10 first-team players which may include club’s all-time leading goalscorer Cristiano Ronaldo and club Captain Sergio Ramos, reports Sport. Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has decided to offload the under performing players and the ones who have more influence on the team than him to keep the team’s harmony safe.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos both have asked the club to leave and are seeking a move away from the Spanish capital. Ronaldo and Ramos share a pretty good relationship and are good friends off the field. Ramos almost quit Real Madrid last summer, but a new contract fulfilled his wishes and he earned the armband from Iker Casillas which made him change his mindset. Ronald is not a new player to be linked with a transfer away from the Santiago Bernabeu and, this time, it may take place since the player’s performances have taken a setback after the La Decima win.
The report claims Real Madrid will sell Cristiano Ronaldo if an offer around €60 million was made and the price tag on Sergio Ramos is set to be in between €20-25 million. Sergio Ramos is believed to have submitted a transfer request and that’s the reason for his very low transfer fee.
James Rodriguez, Isco Alarcon, Alvero Arbeloa, Pepe, Danilo, Casemiro, Jese Rodriguez are the other players who will be sold in the summer according to the report. Real Madrid are already out of Copa del Ray and their chances of winning the Primera Division this year is a lost dream. Champions League is the only possible trophy that is available for the Los Blancos this season and it is believed that Zinedine Zidane will be sacked if he fails to win the UCL. Toni Kroos will also be made available, claims the report.
Real Madrid may have lost the two competitions, but it’s the Champions League which decides the Los Galacticos’ season in which they are still fighting and are one of the favorites to clinch the title as usual. Also, Real Madrid are never a selling club and selling 10 first-team players is more like a squad overhaul which may not take place at Real Madrid since they are just starting to settle after Zidane took over from Rafa Benitez.
We may see a no.of player leaving Real Madrid and some new ‘buys’, but a squad overhaul is very unlikely to happen especially with Zinedine Zidane under whom the Blancos look happier and show more desire to win.
