The post-match scurry between Neymar and Bacca results 4 match ban to Neymar and 2 match suspension to Bacca. That simply implies the Brazil’s Copa America 2015’s captain, Neymar da Silva is out of this tournament.
Neymar looked much aggressive throughout the entire match and at the end, a little fracas ended up with red card to both sides. Neymar and Bacca were sent off by the referee after the 1-0 defeat against Colombia.
Yesterday, in a meeting, the statement of CONMEBOL stated as follows,
To the Brazil national team player Neymar da Silva, a suspension of four games (including the one-game automatic suspension already imposed) and a fine of US $10,000 as consequence of his sending off and related incidents at the end of the match against the Colombia national team on June 17.
This decision can be appealed before the appeals committee.
To the Colombia national team player Carlos Bacca, a suspension of two games (including the one-game automatic suspension already imposed) and a fine of US $5,000 as consequence of his sending off in the match against the Brazil national team on June 17.
This decision cannot be appealed.
Although, Dunga’s side has the opportunity to appeal as Neymar already got one yellow card during the match but that excuse seems much weak to escape from this punishment.
Current Form of Neymar in Copa America 2015
Neymar is the only hope for Selecao and he is now out of the tournament. In the first match, his goal against Peru helped Brazil to win over them with a 2-1 lead. However, the second match in group-stage was lost by Brazil. Against Neymar’s role come forward since he was Dunga’s (probably) only hope after initial match. Nevertheless, he failed and ofcourse, Brazil failed as well.
This thing can demonstrate the performance of Neymar in Copa America 2015.
Changes in Dunga’s Strategy in Brazil Squad
Only one match left in group-stage against Venezuela and after that, quarter-final, semi-final and final (if they can secure their win in quarter final and semi-final). However, the base of Brazil’s strength will no longer available in following matches. Neymar was playing the role carefully but the little fight after at the end of the match against Colombia damaged everything. There is a high chance to see the same World Cup 2014 scenario in following Copa America matches.
Dunga must have to be ready with another attacker like Neymar and the unfortunate thing is currently Brazil is lacking of such a player. This will surely create a lot of problems in the final match in group-stage.
