Louis van Gaal

Manchester United are on the verge to lose more players. Already more than 10 players are out of the squad due to injury since past couple of weeks. However, Manchester United are playing quite good without those senior players as youngsters are currently powering Red Devils.

However, there is a good news for Manchester United supporters as the United boss, Louis van Gaal has told to the official website that three players can return on Wednesday against Watford. Although, this is not 100% confirmed, yet, it seems, Martial and Darmian will be back against Watford. On the other hand, Smalling can also play against Watford.

Although, Smalling and Martial got injury lately, but Darmian has been out from squad since past couple of days. Smalling has been out due to a minor injury. On the other hand, Martial got injured in Denmark during the warm-up before Midtjylland clash.

However, Old Trafford boss has said that,

Players are coming back in March, I think. We need players who are coming back because our programme is very full.

Martial can play and also Darmian can play. Maybe Chris Smalling can play. We have to wait and see for tomorrow.

We have to build players up. You have seen how I did it with Marcos Rojo – 20 minutes and, the second time, 60 minutes, though he did not reach that. So it’s not so easy. Playing in the second team is also a possibility.

It was a kick [for Rojo]. A lot of players receive kicks and they can play the next match.

[Marouane] Fellaini and [Antonio] Valencia are the first ones to come back, I think.

Except, of course, Martial and Smalling and Darmian – they are coming back, maybe already tomorrow. It depends how they feel tomorrow, but the chance is there that one of these three players already plays.

Fellaini shall come into the last step of the process of team training, and also Valencia today has trained with the group, so they are coming back. Wayne Rooney is still in a brace.

It will be a great game indeed for Manchester United they can return in this match at Old Trafford.

Manchester United manager has white washed the ‘Mourinho to United’ talks and was very angry with Media for creating stories about him which are not true.

Manchester United are highly linked with Portuguese tactician Jose Mourinho after the former Real Madrid was sacked by Chelsea months before. Since Jose Mourinho’s sack reports of Manchester United firing Louis van Gaal to hire Jose Mourinho was spread. Louis van Gaal complained about the false news reports earlier and once again he reacted angrily when asked about the current trending ‘Mourinho to United’ reports.

LVG -Goal

The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager stormed at the Media people as he is not happy with the questions as much as the rumors. Neither the club nor the Portuguese said a word about him taking over the reigns at Old Trafford and Louis van Gaal believes there is no contact for Manchester United with Jose Mourinho.

It is normal that a manager gets irritated if he was asked about his replacement especially when there are no signs of ‘sack’ in line. Louis van Gaal is an aggressive man in person and it is very much understandable that he reacted angrily at the press. The Dutch man also revealed that his family, his friends, and well-wishers are also suffering from this rumors and told that they were all very upset.

“The last two months have been very difficult for my wife, my kids, my grandchildren and my friends to cope with.”
“For me too, but I can cope.”
“In the Netherlands they know I am too arrogant to doubt myself, but I also know that such a nonsense is being created about me.”
“I do not believe that there is already a relationship between Jose Mourinho and Manchester United.”
There were reports that LVG hired securities for his wife as he felt insecure in Machester, but the United manager once again gave a hot reply to those reports. He criticised the media for talking rubbish about his family.
“I criticise the media for inventing stories. I never hired security. Never ever. And I am walking on the streets without security and all the people I meet are very positive.”
Though United are showing faith in LVG, it is expected that the Dutch will be shown his doors in the summer as United are preparing for a long-term project.

Manchester United, the Red Devils, are struggling hard in this season in all leagues/tournaments including English Premier League. Although, Manchester United are standing on 5th position on EPL table, but that is now where they should be. Supporters are already unhappy with the boring game of Manchester United. On the other hand, some surveys have already claimed that Manchester United’s gameplay is the most boring in English football.

Controversy begins when thousands of United supports left the stadium even before the Manchester United vs Sheffield United game ends. Although, United won the match with a 1-0 lead from the captain’s penalty into stoppage time, but supporters left the stadium even before that. They were somehow correct on their own track.

Although, the boss, LVG, is happy with the 1-0 win over Sheffield United, but supporters are booing all the time after not getting a single targeted shot until 69th minute. Yes, that’s correct. Manchester United’s gameplay was so useless that they didn’t get a single shot on target until 69th minutes.

Louis Van Gaal

Coach, Louis Van Gaal has said in the press conference that,

You have to be happy as a United fan that we are in the next round and we have won the last two games.

Following that, he was asked to know the reason behind the streaming out of United’s fan before the match end and he said,

They are not thinking that we would score, and maybe also because of the traffic. There are many reasons.

I think the fans have supported our team. It is not an easy time now. How many stadiums were like our stadium, full?

You can mention how they leave, but you can also mention how they come to the stadium to watch.

Currently, most of the United players and members are not so happy with that win and the whole gameplay. Above all, they are not so happy with the thing what the Dutch coach is doing with Manchester United. Three vital players of Manchester United aka Michael Carrick, Ashley Young and Morgan Schneiderlin were out of the reserve bench as well as starting eleven. According to United’s boss, they were in the red zone and were not ready for that match.

Manchester United is right now placed third in the EPL points table, only one point short to the table toppers, but having made good amount of investments earlier to fetch in talents, it is expected from the Red Devils to finish with the league in hand, if not atleast in the second position. Let us have a little talk on, what Manchester United needs to finish in the top two of EPL this season.

What Manchester United needs to finish in the top two of EPL this seasonWhat Manchester United needs 2

Well, to start the discussion, we first need to sort out how other teams are doing and who all looking to bring in threat for the slot. Yes, we do have the regulars like Manchester City and Arsenal in the list, but Chelsea has gone down quiet some place to recover. Now, Leicester City is at the no. one position right now, and Spurs and Everton are remaining close. After Klopps arrival Liverpool is also looking quiet fierce and coming up real fast. The most interesting fact this year is, even after thirteen matches, there is only nine very much recoverable points difference in the first eleven teams. So, it is taken that the competition can turn out to be harder this year as we proceed to the later part of the league.

Manchester United till date; have shown a similar kind of playing procedure and mentality on the pitch. LVG is sticking up to his philosophy gun, while supporters have claimed the games to be boring and frustrating. However, Louis Van Gaal’s formula is quiet simple. With a 4-2-3-1 formation laid, he wants the players to hold the ball for the majority period of the game, outperforming the opponents with quality move from a sudden rise and neutralizing the opponent with sheer command over the ball. He is also building a team where at least seven to eight players can play in different positions from their respective one. Thus he never falls short of players in any position and uses the player’s talent in devotion of various tasks in field. Now, we still find some loopholes down the procedure and are going to find what solution United can opt for.

Rooney needs to play the no.10 role permanently

The player has been suffering from not scoring regularly since long. Yes, Wazza is doing pretty good for his national team, but he is still struggling to dazzle the league opponents on a regular basis. Well, LVG’s solution to this matter has been easy and creative. Young Frenchman Martial has been doing the job quiet good. Lingard, Deapy and in case Fellaini also have completed the need; making Rooney play for a more comfortable no.10 role to play.

Now, here the only solution is to understand that the poacher Rooney is not there to cash in anymore. The best United can milk out of whatever the most salaried player of the EPL is containing is to offer him a no.10 role that is a supporting striker who can move out of the box to be a shadow striker or a play maker. This will not only provide Martial to settle in as a permanent forward but also, he will be blessed with Rooney’s vision and build up games, or long ranger rebounders.

Darmian, Rojo, Shaw are the best choices for the full-back positions

Yes, United have conceded the least amount of goals till date and also, the team is suffering from injury a lot, especially in case of the full-backs; but in no way, Valencia, Young or Jones can be trusted in these positions. The team has recovered very well in case of the central backs, due to some spectacular defending by Smalling and Blind down at defence but, with these full-backs it’s going to be harder than ever to wall the opponent in front of the penetrative zone. Blind has adopted his new found central back position too good and must not be brought back to any other position. The same way Rojo needs to play as a sideback not a stopper with his pace, crossing quality and less technical sense. Darmian, Rojo, Shaw are the best choices for these roles and should be given more and more opportunities to get along with the team from a corner where they can deliver the most. What Manchester United needs 3

Buy a goalkeeper in winter transfer window

Manchester United needs a decent goalkeeper to cover the bench and emerge under the shadows of De Gea. With Champions League to cover this season, United may feel the need of a substitute goalkeeper at any point but at any stage Sergio Romero is just not the option. Manchester United does not have a solid back line established and with Romero covering the goal can harm in the confidence build-up.

Utilize the dead ball situations

Manchester United has been among the most unsuccessful teams in case of taking advantage of corners and free-kicks. Let’s not forget Depay has proved himself to be one of the best free-kick takers in Eredivisie already. He must be given more chances to take free-kicks.

In some big matches or Derby matches, these things turn out to be more than just important. With Mata and Depay to place, players like Fellaini, Smalling and Schneiderlin to head and Rooney and Schweinsteiger to launch the long rangers United should turn out to be lethal in dead balls but too much short corners may cost the red-devils later.

At the same time, Young-Fellaini cross and head combination, Martial and Depay’s cut in moves and Lingard or Perreira’s sudden strike must be kept at the ready to take advantage of crunch situations in big matches.

Final Word:

In short, Manchester United do have a well balanced side this season and must finish in the top four, but to take the standard to the nest level, these simple amendments are needed to be made. LVG is keeping a solid replacement back up to strengthen the bench with versatile players gathered in, which will prove to be fruitful later in such a competitive league but with these changes Manchester United would look even more threatening. However, feel free to share your own view and let us know, what changes you would opt for to see United in top two.

United Finally Pull the Trigger on a New Striker. Was there ever any doubt?

With the transfer window now closed, United fans were left wondering whether they’d ever sign a striker during the latter parts of the final week. In fact, it wasn’t until the last 48 hours of the window before they finally pulled the trigger on signing a striker to bolster their attacking options.

We often see a frenzy of activity in the last couple of days of the transfer window. Frankly, if you’re not tuning into Sky Sports on the final day of the window, it’s hard to comprehend what in your life you feel is more exciting that this circus show. The climatic and often comical finale to the window usually brings an unseen amount of drama. Failed deals, rushed transfers, knee-jerk transfer requests, and some inflated transfers fees make the Premier League the most exciting league in the world.

Manchester United is Taking A Gamble : Will This Resolve Their Struggle For Goal In EPL?During the summer, we saw Louis Van Gaal backed once more by the United board, as he’s splashed the cash on several new players including World Cup winning Germany captain Bastian Schweinsteiger, French international Morgan Schneiderlin, PSV wing wizard Memphis Depay, and full back Matteo Darmian from Torino. However, from the start they made to the season, those acquisitions looked woefully short as United struggled to hit the back of the net.

Wayne Rooney is still yet to score a league goal this season, and there was a ton of question marks hanging over the returning Javier Hernandez’s ability to hit the ground running. That has now disappeared as he saw a move to Bayer Leverkusen push through and end a trophy-laden career with the Old Trafford side.

Even rumours circulated that Maroune Fellani could be deployed as a striker this season. Which left big questions marks over whether United had the attacking options to challenge for the title, in their current state. The need to add someone of the ilk of Edison Cavani, Robert Lewandowski, Neymar, Zlatan Ibrahimovic or even the Tottenham striker Harry Kane seemed a necessity but probably highly unlikely. Van Gaal has a large degree of confidence in his captain, and was expected that Rooney will lead the line for the most part of the season.

That was until United clinched the signing of AS Monaco and French Under-21 international Anthony Marial for a reported £36 million initially, with add-ons included. This is definitely not the marquee signing fans were hoping for but at least it shows that Van Gaal is investing in youth, and regardless of Martial being a fairly unknown quantity to Premier League fans, he is recognised as one of the brightest talents in European football right now.

Manchester United is Taking A Gamble : Will This Resolve Their Struggle For Goal In EPL?

It obviously hadn’t gone unmissed that Liverpool added a proven goalscorer to their ranks in the form of Belgian striker Christian Benteke from Aston Villa for £32 million. Also, Chelsea took Radamel Falcao on loan for the season, after his less than impressive stint at Old Trafford last campaign. The lack of fresh attacking options was somewhat a concern for United. So, at least the Old Trafford faithful can rest easy that they have at least some competition among their forward lineup going into their next game after the international break.

Do they have the depth to challenge Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City? Is Wayne Rooney or Anthony Martial capable of spearheading that push with 20+ league goals? From the start that Rooney has made to the season, it looks like a resounding no. Yes, he did score a hat-trick in the Champions League qualifier against Club Brugge but the opposition were hardly Premier League-quality. One thing is for sure the pressure will snowball quickly if United falter.

Even if Van Gaal did have a relatively successful honeymoon period last season, he will undoubtedly have less room for failure this season. And this season could be judged on whether a signing like Anthony Martial for such a sizeable amount is a success or not.

The addition of Martial to the United squad could well result in Rooney being pushed back into that #10 role that he so often occupied last season. On paper, the trio of Rooney, Martial, and youngster James Wilson still looks woefully short of an attacking offensive worthy of a title-challenging squad. And it’s hardly what United are used to either. Memories of when Cole, Yorke, Sheringham and Solskjaer were jostling for starting berths will no doubt make United fans cringe at the current inadequacies of their forward line.

The need for Martial to hit the ground running could make or break United’s season – even this early in the campaign. If they are to keep in contention for silverware, they need to start scoring, and if Martial is to be a success, the young protégée will have to settle in quickly to the rigours of the Premier League and the demands of the totalitarian Van Gaal.

Manchester United transfer talks are back. The team had a rough win over Tottenham Hotspur, this Saturday and by the look of the team, the Dutch coach is feeling some talents needed which leads the media to yet another lead of speculations around. This time from the look of it, it seems LVG is desperate to import some key players.Manchester united transfer news

Manchester United Transfer News In

Manchester United back on Harry Kane

This Sunday the Mirror has quoted that Louis Van Gaal has expressed much interest on signing a key striker and the red-devils are eyeing Kane to be the one. As for now, Manchester United has not launched any bid for the striker but has made “discreet enquires” for the English striker in order to receive a primary response from Spurs.

Though LVG had expressed enough irritation over media’s focus on United’s striker deficiency, the Dutch coach is intelligent enough to keep the hunt on for a support to Wayne Rooney upfront.

Earlier Tottenham Hotspur had Kane let go for season loan to different clubs. But the last season Kane proved himself to be a future star with 31 goals and a debut in national jersey. He also made himself the fan favourite already. It was well expected that big money would come around to snatch him out, and United’s move seems the last one of  them before the transfer window closes on 1st September.Kane

Needless to say, being Kane is Spurs only striking option (Aston Villa trying hard to bad Emmanuel Adebayor) Tottenham would fight till the end to keep the 22 year striker at home. So, despite the offer is huge enough, Spurs are not going to consider. On the other hand if Manchester United gets any glimpse of signing possibility they may go all in.

What Louis Van Gaal Had to say on signing a striker

“It is not a special item for me, it is more in the media they are discussing about a striker.”

“The striker is Wayne Rooney and we also have Hernandez, Januzaj and Wilson.”

“It is not a special objective for me. But when we can buy another striker who has a lot of qualities more than our players then we buy, but we have done that always.”

“I said it before but they are not writing it. I have said it before, we have Rooney. You said he has to play in a striker’s position.”

Louis Van Gaal last gaze on possible centre-backs

United supporters have been craving for a stopper for long and all the circumstances could bring was to be seen Blind and Smalling pitched in the centre-back position.

Louis Van Gaal though is ready to sign another centre-back, but the red-devil coach needs the one to be far better than Chris Smalling, who in-fact had a good run in the first match against Tottenham Hotspurs.

Well, at the press-conference LVG hinted on starting with Jones in RCB but lately the player has encountered some kind of injury what to the coaches eye is “Minor Thrombosis”.

Now United have been keen on Signing Sergio Ramos, but that has gone way south, as Real Madrid confirmed a new agreement with the player. Let’s see what the manager has in his bags for the late signings.

What Louis Van Gaal had to say on Signing a Defender

“We have three (right-sided) centre backs, we have Smalling, Jones and McNair but if he is much better than them then it is possible. We go for the best players and it has to be possible.”

“(Jones’ injury) was very peculiar because he had the whole week tightness in his calf and he kept training but we have a very good doctor I think because this doctor discovered a minor thrombosis.”

“We don’t take the risk so we go to a second opinion to a specialist in the hospital and that was yesterday.”

“That was after my press conference so I couldn’t say anything. A specialist has said we have a new medical treatment and we have to keep him out for three weeks and we have to watch him.”

Manchester United Transfer news Out

After defeating Arsenal in their opening game, West Ham is going hard to sign “Javier Chicharito Hernandez” from Manchester United. Daily star has recently confirmed that West-Ham is now ready to meet up the £12m asking price to sign up the Mexican striker.

On other news, despite being still highly linked to Real Madrid, Manchester United’s star goal-keeper David De Gea has expressed his willingness to be considered for selection, as the United manager had pitched the new signed Sergio Romero on the opening match. Just for an update, Romero did real well on his first appearance.

Louis van Gaal is expecting professionalism from Chelsea side, as they are taking Liverpool on Sunday at Stamford Bridge. He is convinced that despite of their title win Chelsea will still be focused on beating Liverpool at their home.

Manchester United have lost three in a row without scoring

Van Gaal Expects Chelsea To Beat Liverpool

Chelsea won the Barclays Premier League title last Sunday by beating Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge. There performed brilliantly first half of the season, despite some drops in form in 2nd phase of the season, they still managed get the result when it was needed. Also achieved the record to be in 1st place in point table from first to last day of the season. Van Gaal personally congratulate them, he said:

“I have sent him already a [congratulatory] message but I don’t know if the message has arrived because he changes his number a lot. I want to wish my colleague Jose Mourinho and Chelsea [congratulations] with the championship. It’s well deserved, I think, when you see the statistics. You cannot doubt that they are the real champions.”

Leading tabloid claimed that, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho had given his players four days break ahead of their clash against Liverpool this weekend. But United manager has no doubt about them, he thinks Chelsea will not take them easy. They will definitely try to beat Livepool to extend their remarkable home record. Right now Chelsea are unbeaten in home, drops only 4points in whole season.

The main concern for Van Gaal is performance of Manchester United in last three matches. They suffered three back to back losses. Stared with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, then loss to Everton with score line of 3-0 in Goodison Park and West Brom beat them in Old Trafford. Apart from that, in last three games Red devils failed to score single goal.

Liverpool is now 4 points behind than 4th placed team in league table Manchester United. The Red devils will take on Crystal Palace today at Selhurst Park. This is a tough fixture for them, as Palace can stun any team at their home ground. So this two fixture are going to be very crucial for top 4 place. Now any slip from United is going to create panic and tensed situation in the team. If Liverpool somehow manages to earn points from Chelsea fixture and United lose again in Selhurst Park, it can blow their champions league dream next season.

Van Gaal is desperate to win against Crystal Palace and if Chelsea can do them a favor by beating Liverpool in Stamford Bridge, they will qualify for next season UEFA Champions League with two games to spare. When asked by journalists about the possibility of Chelsea’s stars only returning to training on Friday, van Gaal replied:

“That is the privilege of every manager, certainly when you are the champions. I feel that Jose Mourinho can decide that and his team shall play and do their utmost best, I think.”

So we are again going to see the Manchester United in USA. Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal will again take his boys to the USA this year too. The Reds won the tournament last year under Louis van Gaal’s early involvement at the club. What is more exciting that again Manchester United has confirmed their USA tour.

Manchester United Confirmed Their USA Tour:

Manchester United will start their USA tour with a match against Club America on 17th July. Now let’s get into the details.

Last year trouble:

Last year it was exhausting for the players and the new coach of the team as they had to run 13,500 miles to cover five cities for five matches. The mismanagement irritated the coach though devoid of such hectic schedule they won the title and Van Gaal got his first trophy, the International Champions’ Cup after joining United. The Reds played in West Coast in front of 362,119 attendances which is a US record. But still the unhappiness was found in the coaches’ voice:

“We have to prepare for the season and when you have a lot of commercial activities also for the players, and you have to travel distances, you have to fly a lot, you have also jet lag, and that is not very positive for a good preparation, but the tour was already arranged (before I became manager) so I have to adapt and I shall adapt.”

This year things are different:

Last year the whole match schedule was arranged by the former Manchester United coach. They geographically will cover a certain zone for their matches and as per news they will centre in Seattle where they will inaugurate their first match Club America on July 17th. This year they will play only 4 matches in just 12 days, but unfortunately they will not be seen confronting their Premier League rivals. After the last match in 29th July they will fly back to England to play a friendly match against Old Trafford and then they will start for the Premier League starting from 8th August.

According to the news next year summer tour will certainly be in Asia.

The reactions:

According to Richard Arnold, United managing director:

“Manchester United has a great history of visiting these US cities, creating memorable experiences for players and fans that date back as far as the 1950s.”

“Tour 2015, presented by Aon, will allow the team to train at some of the best facilities in the world and play in front of thousands of passionate US supporters at first-class stadiums.”

The most exciting news comes from home when he talked about the Manchester derby,

“After this month’s Manchester derby broke records to become the most-watched Premier League match in US cable television history, the club is excited to be returning to the United States at a time when the appetite for football is greater than ever.”

The other teams:

Chelsea will open the competition against the New York Red Bulls on July 22 at New Jersey, following by a match against PSG on July 25and will confront Barcelona three days later.

The schedule of Manchester United:

vs Club America on 17th July

vs San Jose Earthquakes on 21st July

vs Barcelona on 25th July

vs Paris Saint-Germain on 29th July

Wrap up

Van Gaal will be completing one year with Manchester United and this International Champions’ Cup is the tournament from where he started with a bang. After Manchester United has confirmed their USA tour, all the expectations has been raised more than before. Hope this year his team will shine again and that will definitely add to their confidence just before plunging into the war itself, the Premier League.

Manchester United suffers back to back losses. After losing to Chelsea last Saturday at Stamform Bridge, now they have lost to Everton by 3 goals to nil at Goodison Park. The Red Devils’ are currently in the 4th position in league table after this defeat.

The first strike came from James McCarthy, from a brilliant counter attacking move. Visitors never look comfortable after the first goal, constant threat was coming from Lukaku, Baines, Lennon and others. United was struggling to cope up with the pressure. In 35th minutes, Stones put the ball in the net from a corner taken by Leighton Baines. In 75 minute Kevin Mirallas wrapped up the match, make it 3-0 for Everton.

Louis Van Gaal’s Reaction in Pre-match:

“It is the first time that I have seen that our motivation, inspiration and aggression was not as high as the opponent. In sport, you shall always be compared to your opponent and that was the reason.”

“I had already the feeling and my colleagues, Ryan Giggs and Albert [Stuivenberg], had the feeling because the warm-up was not as good as usual. Then you say that, in the last minutes before the game, you hope you can recover and stimulate your players but then it is too late. You have to prepare for the match two or three days before and Everton have done that and they have won because of that.”

He also added:

“When you have a lot of time on the ball, you can also lose the ball easily and then you have to be very sharp in the duels. When you see the goal after four minutes, three duels in a row we lost and that is an example.”
“In the first half we created a lot of chances – five, I think – but we never scored. When you see the shots on the goal it is also without conviction. That is not good.”

The Manchester United boss was clearly unhappy with the performance. Like the last match, United with all the possession but simply failed to capitalize in the match. He wasn’t sure why his player struggled in Goodison Park, but he insisted to make things better from the next match. He continued:

“You cannot analyze exactly what is the reason. That is very difficult, I think you only can notice that and you can see that and learn from it because Everton were highly motivated and you have seen that. The training sessions were alright. It is also a process because we are playing so well in the last six or seven games that also players think OK, it shall come, but it shall not come.”

“You need the inspiration and the motivation and the aggression to win the second balls and to fight to the end. Many times I have said they have fought to the end and a manager cannot demand more.”

“I am manager of Manchester United and the players shall use my words and think and communicate with each other. I hope it shall not happen again but, as a coach, I know it shall happen again.”
