Former England U21 manager Stuart Pearce urged Arsene Wenger to sign the Ivory Coast captain and Manchester City’s midfield head Yaya Toure if the player leaves the Manchester club in the summer. Yaya Toure is expected to leave Manchester City once Pep Guardiola arrives at the Etihad stadium in the summer.

Pep Guardiola is the next Manchester City manager and is expected to take charge at the Etihad as soon as this season is over. The first news to come out of Manchester City after the appointment of Pep Guardiola is that Toure will leave the club once the former Barcelona manager takes charge of Manchester City. Pep Guardiola and Toure had a rift at Barcelona when the Spaniard was managing Barcelona. It is reported that Guardiola did not want Toure as a box-to-box midfielder rather he preferred Sergio Busquets who is a trademark center defensive midfielder and suits Barcelona’s playing style perfectly.

Toure left Barcelona to join Manchester City where he made a name for himself and is now one of the fan favorites at the Etihad. Earlier this season, reports circulated that Manchester City hierarchy has agreed to offer an honouring role to Yaya Toure inside the club’s directing panel as a token of merit to his sheer commitment and service to the club.

Stuart Pearce who manager Manchester City for two years has voiced his admiration for the veteran and thinks the player can make an impact with the Gunners. The former England U21 manager clarified that Yaya can play a ‘leader’ role at Emirates which will help the Gunners to motivate the youngster and the squad towards the Premier League title for which the Gunners are longing over a decade.

“On his day Yaya Toure is outstanding.”

“Arsenal need an old head within the team.”

“Petr Cech has proved a fantastic success this year at Arsenal, and to have a player like Toure at the centre of midfield, as that holding type of player, I think he’d give one or two of the youngsters a bit of a lift.”

“I think he’d be a good signing for them,” Pearce told talkSPORT.

Pearce is right considering how Petr Cech’s arrival has lifted Arsenal’s title challenge this season. The Cech Republic international is outstanding for the Gunners and has saved Arsenal from losing points more than once this year to prove his worth.

Manchester City Vs Aston Villa: The Citizens face Aston Villa against whom they have not lost at the Etihad in the last Eight games.

City players are desperate for a win and get them back to winning ways after defeated 3-0 by rivals Liverpool in their last league fixture. City are trailing by 10 points to league leaders Leicester City and are 7 points behind second placed Tottenham. City dropped from being one of the title favorites to a team to battle for a Top 4 spot. But manager Manuel Pellegrini is optimistic that they are still in the title race since the Premier League is highly unpredictable.

On the other hand, Aston Villa are in the least position in the League table with 8 points behind 19th placed New Castle United who have played a game fewer than the Villans. If Aston Villa have any idea of playing the Premier League next season, they have to improve very quick and a win against a very strong City side will serve as a big boost.

Manchester City Vs Aston Villa Match Preview: 6/3/2016 Premier League

“Hopefully we will prove once again, as we did in the home game against City, that football doesn’t always go as predicted,” told Aston Villa manager Remi Garde when asked about how his team is going to prepare for the big game. Though Aston Villa have the courage to do an upset at the Etihad, their position, and recent form do not justify the manager’s claims. Villa has scored just 5 goals in their last 10 Premier League away games.

“We are not going to give up. Ten points is a lot but we have one game (in hand) and in the Premier League you never know when you are going to lose points. We have just had a bad moment in the league but we have another 33 points to try to reach it,” told Manuel Pellegrini. Certainly the league race is not over and Pellegrini is very well right that EPL is highly unpredictable and anyone can lose points anywhere.

It’s an easy win for Manchester City, but Aston Villa can also score a goal as they did in the same fixture last year. City always finish a league campaign stronger and Villa will not stand a chance if City gets going. The game will be a 3-1 win to Manchester City.

Liverpool Vs Manchester City: The 6th placed Reds face Manchester City who are 4th in the EPL table on 3rd March 2016 (IST).

Jurgen Klopp’s men had a better game but their lack of accuracy in the final third cost them the game.

The German is entering the game with new hopes of beating the Citizens this time and a victory is a must needed one for the Reds to keep their chances of a Champions League spot alive. For City, the game can turn out to be a title decider as they aim to shorten the point gap to League Leaders Leicester City.

Yaya Toure will also not start the game probably as he limped off the field in the Capital One Cup final and did not strain himself much while the team was celebrating the victory.

City’s title hopes are on ropes after their struggles in the last months, but the Capital One Cup victory gave them a new confidence. Manuel Pellegrini is hopeful that his team can win the League title this season amid not being one of the favorites to clinch the title. Leicester City and Tottenham are the top 2 favorites to win EPL this season, but Pellegrini is hopeful that his team can upset the top 2 and win the league.

Joe Hart, Bacary Sagna, Vincent Kompany, Nicolas Otamendi, Clichy, Fernando, Yaya Toure, Fernandinho, Jesus Navas, Raheem Sterling, Sergio Aguero.

Liverpool Vs Manchester City Match Prediction

The visitors will find it difficult to break Liverpool if David Silva misses out from the start. Raheem Sterling’s finishing ability is a big concern for City against Liverpool in the last game, but the English youngster is always a threat up front. Liverpool have to rely on Roberto Firminho and Daniel Sturridge to provide the goals and they will definitely miss Martin Skrtel to keep Sergio Aguero shut.

Though City won the Capital One Cup final, they did not create much threat to Liverpool in the game and relied mostly on counters. In short, the team who play more CLINICAL football will have the upper hand.

In this year’s tournament, Liverpool battled hard ti reach the finals while City made easy work against their opponents to reach the last stage. Liverpool needed a nail-biting penalty shoot-out against Carlisle whereas City won Everton by 4-3 in semi-final over two legs.

Current Form and Performances of Liverpool

Cup competitions are the best probable titles for Jurgen Klopp this year as his team is currently in the 6th position in English Premier League with only a Top 4 finish is possible. In the Europa League, Liverpool have to play Manchester United in the next round against whom the Reds lost twice this season. So, the Capital One Cup is the first of the TWO best options available for Liverpool. Under Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool are playing better but they form is inconsistent and they lose games in regular intervals to make things bad. Still a win is possible aginst City, but the Reds will need their defense to play a tight game.

Match Prediction

Though City have the better squad, the game will be dominated by Jurgen Klopp and his men. A clean sheet for either team is impossible and we can expect some individual heroics from both the sides especially from Coutinho or Aguero.

Pep Guardiola will try to lure defender Marcelo Vieira from Real Madrid once he took over the job at Etihad, according to The Guardian.

Pep Guardiola is the nest manager to take over Manchester City and the club have very high hopes on the Spaniard who has achieved big things at Barcelona and Bayern Munich. The former Barcelona man has signed a deal to be the next Manchester City manager, replacing Manuel Pellegrini from the hot seat in the summer.

City already have started to plan their transfer to ease the workload on their new manager, scouting top talents and players all over Europe. Top players including Paul Pogba, Antoine Griezmann, Toni Kroos are linked with the club and the latest one to add to the list is Real Madrid left back Marcelo.

Marcelo - Ron
Marcelo – Real Madrid

The Brazilian is the vice-captain for Real Madrid whose status with the Blancos is nothing less than club Captain Sergio Ramos. Additionally, the Brazilian wingback is a fan favorite at the Santiago Bernabeu. Luring him from the Spanish capital will be an impossible task considering the player’s status at the club and his LOYALTY towards Real Madrid.

Marcelo is one of the most loyal players in the club currently, making the job very hard for the English side who hope they can convince the player. City used money as their best option in the past, but can they outsmart Real Madrid who are the richest club in the world is a big question. Also, the Brazilian just extended his contract with Real Madrid in the last summer which allow Real Madrid to have the player until 2020.

Marcelo’s release clause is around 120 million Euros which is said to be the minimum amount for the player if anyone wants him. Marcelo joined Real Madrid in 2007 from Fluminense as an 18-year-old teenager and now he is one of the best ever fullbacks to play for Real Madrid. Marcelo is just years away from being considered as a Legend of the club who is getting compared with fellow Brazilian and Real Madrid Legend Roberto Carlos.

Pep Guardiola will definitely sign world class players for his new team, but signing a player of Marcelo’s status is looking impossible. Also, the rivalry he has with Real Madrid as a Barcelona man may play a role in complicating the transfer.

The defending English Premier League Champions host Manchester City in the FA Cup 5th round with the aim of winning the only possible trophy of this season. Chelsea are already out of Premier League Title race and from the Capital One Cup. At this form, Chelsea’ hopes of winning the Champions League is very slim which leaves only the FA Cup. The Defending Champions are not even in the race for a Top 4 finish and that makes things complicated for Chelsea leaving 100% pressure on the FA Cup.

Chelsea who suffered a 2-1 lost to Frech Champions Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of Champions League Round 16 game enters the game as the favorites. Chelsea has not lost a single game after Guus Hiddink took charge except the PSG game. Though their League position is not appreciable, they are in fine form lately and are a serious threat to Manchester City who enters a game with no of senior players  sidelined due to injury.

Manchester City are on a tight schedule as they have three very important games in 8 days. The Citizens have Champions League Round 16 game in the midweek and the Capital One Cup final next weekend. With senior players out injured, Manual Pellegrini is in a difficult situation. The Chilian must keep his players fresh and save the rest of the squad from further injuries.

Current Form and Performances of Chelsea

Chelsea players against Newcastle united

The Blues are playing well under new boss Guus Hiddink. Key players Diego Costa, Cesc Fabregas, Oscar are returning to their best and winger Willian is in his best form. John Obi Mikel is a surprisingly impressive under Hiddink who scored the most valuable away goal against PSG. Hiddink’s major problems will be the poor form of Eden Hazard and a rusty Nemanja Matic. Chelsea’s backline is finding its feet again, but the absence os first teamers John Terry and Kurt Zouma may affect a little.

Chelsea Injury News

Kurt Zouma is a season absentee for the Blues and club Captain John Terry will be out for another 3-4 weeks. Forwards Radamel Falcao, Loic Remy are not in perfect condition, leaves Diego Costa the only first team capable striker. Thibaut Courtois may be rested for Asmir Begovic.

Predicted Starting XI

Asmir Begovic, Ceaser Azpilicueta, Branislav Ivanovic, Gary Cahill, Baba Rahaman, John Obi Mikel, Nemanja Matic, Cesc Fabregas, Willian, Pedro, Diego Costa.

Current Form and Performances of Manchester City

Manchester City are one of the most inconsistent top teams in EPL this season as they are sliding down in the Premier League table. The title race is not over yet and City are still one of the favorites to clinch the title. City lost the crucial game against Tottenham last week which arose a lot of questions on Manual Pellegrini’s tactics. In the last 6 Premier League games, City have won only two, losing one and drawing three. Though Chelsea are struggling this year, they have been in fine form at present which makes them the favorites for the tie.

Manchester City Injury News

Manchester City have a long list of absentees for the game against Chelsea.Fullback Bacary Sagna is a doubt while Elliaquam Mangala will miss the game. Samir Nasri, Kevin de Bruyne, Jesus Navas, Fabian Delph and Wolfred Bony will all miss the games.

Predicted Starting XI

Willy Cabellero, Pablo Zabaleta, Martin Demichelis, Nicolas Otamendi, Gael Clichy, Manu Garcia, Fernando, David Silva, Raheem Sterling, Bersant Celina, Kelechi Iheanacho.

Key Player for Chelsea and Manchester City

City’s injury concerns leave them behind their rivals, but still the Citizens have a squad who can upset any team.

Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa

The Spaniard are re-forming their last season heroics after struggling the major part of 2015-16. Even a tiny hole in City’s defense will cause them dearly if they allow these two play freely.

Manchester City:

David Silva and Raheem Sterling

In the absence of Sergio Aguero, Sterling should raise his game. The English youngster is always a threat up front and this is the perfect time for him to prove is worth. David Silva will play his usual stride who is no less threat than Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas.

Chelsea vs Manchester City Match Prediction

Chelsea are clear favorites to win the tie, but the win will not be an easy one considering City’s dominating attacking play. Despite losing key players, the Citizens have enough fire power to make a win out of nothing. An entertaining encounter can be expected with the game ending 2-1 in favor of Chelsea.

Barcelona Legend Xavi Hernandez revealed that he knew Pep Guardiola will join Manchester City in the summer even before the statement was made officially. The veteran also happy about the ‘Mourinho to United’ rumors and is sure that it will be very good for Premier League.

Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola had a very hard relationship both on and off the pitch while both were managing in Spain. Jose Mourinho broke Barcelona’s dominance in Spain under Pep Guardiola as he managed Real Madrid to win the La Liga with record no of goals scored in a season.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are arch rivals ever since the clubs were built which brought the managers relationship to another level. Pep Guardiola being a pure La Masia product had an emotional attachment with his own club and fans and on the other hand, Jose Mourinho is loved by a sector of Real Madrid fans who are faithful to the Portuguese.

The duo is ready to go head-to-head once again as Pep Guardiola is taking the reigns at Manchester City and Jose Mourinho is reportedly very close to joining Manchester United. Xavi who played under Pep Guardiola thinks his fellow countryman will be a sheer success at Machester City and revealed that it’s Pep Guardiola’s dream to manage in Premier League.

Xavi also told that English Premier League will be a new challenge for Pep Guardiola and is looking forward to witnessing the Mourinho vs Pep competitions once again, branded the clash as ‘attractive’ and ‘a level beyond football’.

“Next year could be an amazing duel between Pep and Mourinho if it’s confirmed that Jose is signing for United. It will be attractive.”
“I’m convinced that City will do very well with Pep. Mourinho is a winner but with different types of approaches to football, which they don’t share.”
Xavi who was introduced to first team football by Louis van Gaal concerned that the Dutch man is wrongly treated by people and called his former manager as ‘honest’ and ‘a great coach’. Xavi also supported Louis van Gaal’s aggressive approach saying the Dutch man’s methods will be more effective with time.
“I feel very bad for him. He’s an honest person and a great coach.”
“He gets on badly with the press and that eventually grinds you down. And on top of that the results haven’t been coming, so you get the situation as it is at Manchester United.”
“Sometimes we spoke with Luis Enrique about things that Louis van Gaal said or did and it seemed outrageous when we were players. But now we can see he was right, that he was ahead of the rest.”
