Arsenal vs Bayern Munich – The famous rivals are once again locking the horns in the European Elite stage. The English giants set to welcome the German Champions to the Emirates Stadium for the third group stage game; the game which can decide Arsenal’s fate in the Champions League this season. Both the teams are in great form domestically and that energises the fixture.

Arsenal has not won a single game in the Champions league this season having lost the first two games against Dinamo Zagreb and Olympiacos. On the other hand, Bayern Munich are running ruthless in the European competitions as well winning their first two games against the Greek and Croatian opponents. The Germans did not concede a single goal so far in the UCL, scoring 8 goals in the process.

The two losses that Gunners suffered has reduced their chances of qualifying to the knockout stages as they are the worst performing team in the Group F.



Arsene Wenger has arguably the Best Squad among the English teams and some of his key players are returning to form gives confident to Arsenal faithful; Mesut Ozil, Theo Walcott and Alexis Sanchez have all excelled in the recent weeks. The undisputed German Champions are one of the favorites to win the Champions League every season and this year is not an exception. Bayern are suffering from injury concerns from the start of the season, but their performances have not dropped an inch. New signing Douglas Costa is so impressive from the very start and the young Kingsley Coman has also excelled under new coach Pep Guardiola.

Bayern Munich has not lost a single point so far in Bundesliga this season, scoring 29 goals in just 9 games; more than 3 goals per game and conceded just 4 goals.


Both the teams have fair no of players sidelined due to injuries; a total of 13 players are set to miss the tie due to injuries.

Arsenal has Francis Coquelin, Tomas Rosicky, Danny Welbeck, Jack Wilshere and Mathieu Flamini injured. Bayern Munich’s list is even longer. The German giants have to face the Gunners without key players Mario Gotze, Franck Ribery, and Arjen Robben.

Badstuber, Benatia, Kingsley Coman and Sebastian rode are the other injured players from Bayern’s side. A recent report from Bayern Munich has confirmed that Arjen Robben will miss the tie, but Coman has made the flight to London, but whether the former Juventus starlet will feature in the game or not will be revealed later by head coach Perp Guardiola.

In the last Six games they played, Bayern has won Three games, Arsenal has won Two games and a game was a draw. But in all the three occasions, Arsenal was knocked out by the Germans more comfortably.

Bayern are easily the favorites to win the game, but Arsenal game give a tough competition if they use their full potential, still they can only get a draw if Bayern kept their focus for the full 90 minutes.
