“It’s more difficult to prepare against Hull than Barcelona,” Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is confident that his team can pull a win against Defending European Champions Barcelona at the Emirates stadium today and revealed that his team is more than prepared to face the Spanish Champions.
Arsenal welcome Barcelona to London for the first leg of Round of 16 of the Champions League which is expected and predicted to end in the favour of the visitors. Arsenal have not crossed the first stage of the Champions League knock-outs in the last five seasons whereas Barcelona are the favorites to clinch the title this season.
Arsenal failed to progress in the FA cup as they drawn the game against Hull City last week and now the tie will be decided in the replay at Hull’s stadium. Wenger is confident that Arsenal does not need a big motivation to play the Barcelona game as they needed for the FA Cup fixture. He said that his players were expecting the fixture with eager to prove themselves against the Europes’ best team which makes his job easy.
It’s no surprise that Arsenal players are eager for Barcelona game, but they must not be over-confident and they should keep in mind that they are going to play against the deadliest forwards on this world; The MSN – Messi, Suarez, Neymar. The South American trio can thrash the Gunners if allowed even a single chance.
“It’s more difficult to prepare against Hull than Barcelona.”
“Against Barcelona, everyone is focussed naturally so it’s more about creating belief and confidence because Barcelona are super favourites for this game.”
“For Hull, it’s about raising the urgency level. Tomorrow everyone is convinced that we have to be totally focussed to have a chance. I try to raise that belief and confidence – let’s go for it,” told Wenger.
